Why?
After so many tries to make all my different technologies that I use on my website to work nicely with each other, I've had it.I switched gears entirely.
How?
I am using Erlang and Nitrogen now, and I must admit that this combination of rock solid Erlang and a very spiffy web framework namedNitrogen is the best combination that I have found thus far.
Nitrogen takes an overloaded framework like RubyOnRails (which I also happen to love a LOT) to a very usable minimalistic approach.
My learning curve on RoR was quite steep and it took me a while (about 6 months) to get used to it. Not so on Erlang and Nitrogen; that curve was a lot less steep and I am using it now. After only a couple of weeks of Erlang/Nitrogen :)
